1. Introduction

4. Legal Bases for Processing

This section applies if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Legal basis What we rely on it for
Performance of a contract Creating your account, providing the Services, processing payments
Legitimate interests Improving the Services, security and fraud prevention, direct marketing to existing customers, business analytics
Consent Non-essential cookies, marketing emails to new subscribers
Legal obligation Tax and accounting records, responding to lawful requests from authorities

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interest does not override your rights and freedoms. You can object to that processing at any time — see Section 9.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to run the Services and to understand how they are used.

Strictly necessary Sign-in, session management, security, load balancing No — the Services will not work without them

You can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may break parts of the Services.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share personal information with:

  • Service providers who work on our behalf — hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, customer support tooling — under contracts that limit them to our instructions
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors and insurers, where necessary
  • Authorities, when required by law, court order or a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, safety or property
  • An acquirer, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets; we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy
  • Anyone you direct us to, with your consent

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal information to enable your continued use of the Services, for as long as it is required in order to fulfil the relevant purposes described in this Privacy Notice, as may be required by law (including for tax and accounting purposes), or as otherwise communicated to you. How long we retain specific personal information varies depending on the purpose for its use, and we will delete your personal information in accordance with applicable law.

8. Data Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and least-privilege permissions, logging and monitoring, regular backups, staff training, vendor security reviews.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for telling us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

If a breach affects your personal information and is likely to create a high risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant regulator within the timeframes the law requires.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations
  • Portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge you differently for exercising these rights

How to exercise them. Email support@meanfin.com or write to the address in Section 13. We will respond and may ask for information to verify your identity. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.

Marketing. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You will still receive service messages about your account.

10. Children's Privacy

We don't provide the Services for children.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to or embed third-party websites, plug-ins and applications — for example payment processors, social buttons, and chat widgets. Clicking a link or loading an embed may allow that third party to collect information about you.

We do not control those services and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before sharing information with them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect.

For material changes we will give notice before they take effect by emailing registered users and posting a notice in the Services, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent. Older versions are available on request from support@meanfin.com.
